With 1,694 new cases, Nepal's Covid-19 tally reaches 608,472.

  The Health Ministry reports 46 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army. Nepal on Sunday reported 1,694 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 608,472. Similarly, 713 people tested positive in a total of 5,988 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry. As of Sunday,  3,214,725 PCR and 107,829 antigen tests  have been carried out across the country. A total of 7,517 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 46 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by Nepal Army on different dates. The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,412. China has created a dystopian hellscape in Xinjiang, Amnesty report says

The human rights organisation Amnesty International has said China is committing crimes against humanity in Xinjiang, the north-western region that is home to the Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities. In a report published on Thursday, Amnesty called on the UN to investigate, saying China had subjected Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and other Muslims to mass detention, surveillance, and torture. Agnès Callamard, the secretary general of Amnesty International, accused Chinese authorities of creating "a dystopian hellscape on a staggering scale". "It should shock the conscience of humanity that massive numbers of people have been subjected to brainwashing, torture and other degrading treatment in internment camps, while millions more live in fear amid a vast surveillance apparatus," Ms Callamard said. The Health Ministry reports 59 new deaths including figures from the past few days based on statistics from the Nepal Army. Nepal on Thursday reported 2,874 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide infection tally to 601,687. Similarly, 875 people tested positive in a total of 4,568 antigen tests, according to the Health Ministry. As of Thursday, 3,189,104 PCR and 91,368 antigen tests have been carried out across the country.     A total of 9,901 PCR tests were performed in the past 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry. In its regular situation report, the ministry did not mention the death toll over the past 24 hours. It, however, reported 59 Covid-19-related fatalities, which included the number of deaths managed by the Nepal Army on different dates. The countrywide death toll has now reached 8,238.
